The Alta Surrogacy Project provides the unique opportunity to help create a family for those who cannot. This can be an extraordinarily gratifying and joyful experience that allows a surrogate to carry and deliver a baby created through eggs donated by the mother or egg donor and sperm from the father or a donor. This gestational surrogacy assures that there is no genetic link for the surrogate mother, despite her critical role in carrying and delivering the baby.
A gestational surrogate is a very special woman; one who can make the physical and psychological commitment, as well as have the motivation to make an exceptionally positive difference in the lives of others in their quest to have a child.
We screen and select our donors very carefully. To be considered you must:
- Have had a least one child with no more than 2 C-sections
- Be in good health between the ages of 22 and 38
- Be a non-smoker in a non-smoking household
- Be without a criminal record
The application screening process begins with filling out and returning the online questionnaire.
If your application is accepted, you will be contacted by our program director who will set up an initial interview to gather further information about your medical, family, and lifestyle history.
The next step will be extensive medical and psychological testing to ensure that your participation will not be harmful to you or the fetus.
Once accepted into our program, you will be matched with appropriate intended Parents whom you will meet.
Gestational surrogates will be asked to take hormones to regulate and synch their menstrual cycle with the egg donor. An embryo transfer is done by gently inserting the embryos into the uterus using a small catheter that is passed through the vagina across the cervix. Further hormone support is required after embryo transfer. Management of the pregnancy and delivery is with your personal obstetrician.
Compensation for successful candidates is $20,000-$25,000.
