25th Anniversary Reunion
On June 20th, 2009 over two hundred former and current patients of the Alta Bates IVF Program gathered together with their children and Dr. Chetkowski’s team on the rooftop garden of the medical center in Berkeley. The occasion was the 25th Anniversary of the program.
Sunny weather was matched by the mood of all celebrants. It was a joyous occasion allowing for renewal of old ties, vital updates and introduction of new arrivals. The two earliest alumnae in attendance, Marissa and Erin, were born in the summer of 1987 and they both recently graduated from college. The youngest, Natali, was born only 6 weeks earlier.
Jake took the cake for having come the furthest distance - New Jersey. He and his mom, Karen, had a reunion with their best friend and gestational carrier, Robin. She herself has three children from the Alta Bates program and now lives in Seattle.
It was a memorable, often emotional, time for all. Old and new friendships, combined with great food and California sunshine, made the day very special.
