Our program follows a different model from most fertility clinics, where, on any given day, all egg retrievals or embryo transfers are done by the physician on call that day. At Alta Bates your own doctor performs all the procedures throughout your entire treatment cycle assuring maximal continuity of care. This close patient-doctor relationship lies at the heart of our program. We do not expect to give up this vital feature of our care for the sake of mere efficiency.
With 25 years of clinical experience to draw upon, Dr. Chetkowski has often succeeded in patients with multiple prior failed attempts in other programs. Many of these patients are considered untreatable by most physicians. Within a human size practice, Dr. Chetkowski can map out novel and truly individualized approaches to match closely each patient’s unique clinical and personal profile. Dr. Christopher Herndon has been trained on the cutting edge of assisted reproductive technologies and brings to the program a unique perspective and commitment.
With the support of a renowned non-profit community hospital, the Alta Bates IVF Program is less susceptible to economic pressures which play a major role in the operations of many stand-alone clinics. Therefore, we can offer our patients several more affordable options, such as, sliding-scale fees for IVF, sharing of egg donors and embryo donation, which do not appear to exist in most other programs.
